I am currently working on a revamp to this site - the look has been refreshed, and I will be working over the next few days to get all of the information updated. Stay tuned!

After a long hiatus from my public music-making, I have decided to release a second album based on some work I did over the winter of 2016/2017. I hit a pretty cool milestone when I finished Formation I: Through the Universe, and distributed it through various online stores and streaming services. And that was it - I achieved my goal, and didn't need to publish anything more. However, friends and colleagues have encouraged me that this new stuff is better than Formation I, which got me thinking: why not release it?
The new album consists of 9 instrumental tracks, running at about 40 mins. Here is a quick breakdown: 1) The Noble Guardian: Heavy on orchestral sounds, with an uplifting feel. 2) The Lone Enforcer: A driving electronic track, with a sense of urgency. 3) Raging Beast: A heavy, uncomfortable electronic track, reminiscent of a dungeon crawler. 4) Forest Fairies: A laid back, yet punchy electronic track, with soothing melodies and gritty bass. 5) Mischievous Spark: A speedy, playful, catchy electronic track. 6) The Wild Warlord: An industrial sounding, dubstep influenced track punctuated by guitar riffs. 7) Bloody Assassin: A punchy trance track with a sinister feel. 8) Mother and Protector: A relaxed, calming track. 9) Lightning Warrior: An energetic track with involved breakbeat drumming. There is no official release date set yet, but it will likely be at the end of July. In the last couple of days I finished final editing/mastering on my new concept album, Formation I: Through the Universe. I had a first draft done a while ago, but there were a couple of things that bugged me enough to hold back from a formal release. The first draft was posted on YouTube, if you want to take a listen (see bottom of this post for an embedded video). Consider it in a "final beta-test" stage right now, and expect the formal release pretty soon. I've also been doing a lot of thinking about the format/method I want to release my stuff in; I've been throwing things on a free generic file-sharing website up until now, but I wanted to find something more specific to music. After some deliberation I've decided to go with Bandcamp. They let me set the price (including free), allow for variable pricing, give full previews of all tracks that are uploaded, offer a variety of file formats for download, and properly tag the files. Plus they don't charge any monthly fees, just 15% commission on sales. As a bonus, they let you generate promo-codes and fun stuff like that, so I can even have sales and giveaways!!! Until next time. -Peter Hello world!
Welcome to my music-making website, and furthermore welcome to my music-making blog. I will (hopefully) occasionally post some of my activities related to music-making, whether it is new songs or albums I've made, thoughts on a synthesizer (software or hardware), or about music in general. I'm currently in the process of building this website - I think I'm almost ready to start opening my remaining sections, so stay tuned... |
